Saint-André Cathedral, dating from the 12th century, is an outstanding example of Gothic architecture in France. Its imposing spires and magnificent stained glass windows make it a jewel of French heritage.
Following a highly successful tour of France’s greatest cathedrals, in front of more than a million dazzled spectators, LUMINISCENCE returns to its roots: Bordeaux, in the imposing Saint-André Cathedral. It unveils its latest work: L’Odyssée Céleste (The Celestial Odyssey).

Before settling in for the show, take a leisurely stroll through the nave of the cathedral, guided by the notes of an outstanding soloist. During your visit, cultural interpretation panels describe the key moments in its history and encourage careful observation of the architecture and stories that reside in one of Europe’s most magnificent buildings. A gradual introduction, combining attentive listening and contemplation.
This first section is only available in the Live Choir or Live Choir & Orchestra versions. Approximately twenty minutes.
Then take a seat in the nave, look up at the sky and watch Saint Andrew’s Cathedral come to life again. A breath of the past sweeps through the nave, awakening a child’s curiosity. Filled with wonder, he questions this thousand-year-old place… The cathedral then comes to life and reveals its mysteries to his memory. From the royal union of Eleanor of Aquitaine to the hymns of the Liberation, take part in a dazzling experience that connects history and the present day.
Approximately 45 minutes.
Composed of 15 musicians and conducted by Alexis Duffaure, the LUMINISCENCE Orchestra enhances the voices of the choir during exceptional evenings performed entirely live. These performances offer a unique musical experience, where the intensity of the orchestra and the emotion of the choir combine harmoniously. A complete acoustic experience in one of the world’s most impressive sound refuges.
Periods: Every weekend until 29 November. Limited availability.

Hop on and off the double-decker bus to explore the city, then stop at stop no. 4, Place de la République, located just a few minutes’ walk from the cathedral and Pey-Berland Tower!

Bordeaux is rich in history and heritage with its 350 UNESCO listed buildings. Each one more unusual than the next, don’t miss out on discovering them.
We have put together a list of the most important places in the Port de la Lune to visit…
The exhibition *Circasciences en piste*, organised by Cap Sciences, is part of an initiative to bring advanced science to the general public through the lens of the circus arts. The exhibition design features a series of interactive installations that allow visitors to analyse the physical mechanisms employed by performers during their acts. This educational approach transforms a fun experience into a genuine scientific laboratory accessible to the general public.
Located on the quays of Bordeaux, right next to the Cité du Vin, this exhibition benefits from a strategic position within a well-established tourist ecosystem. This location makes it easy to incorporate into a wider urban discovery itinerary, particularly through organised tours.
The Cité du Vin is hosting the exhibition Around the World in 50 Wine Regions, a visual journey dedicated to the diversity of international wine-growing regions. This programme showcases a selection of photographs from partner regions, each of which has chosen an iconic image to embody its landscape, people or heritage.
The curatorial approach is based on a cross-sectional interpretation of the vineyards, without geographical hierarchy or strict technical classification. The photographs interact with each other through three major themes:
The musée des beaux-arts de Bordeaux offers a renewed interpretation of its collections through the exhibition “Passions collections,” structured around a body of works acquired over a full decade. This curatorial approach highlights not only rarely displayed pieces but also the scientific and heritage-driven logic behind public acquisitions. The exhibition design follows a precise museographic framework aimed at illustrating how a collection evolves through institutional decisions and art market opportunities.
