CORPORATE SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY

Corporate Social Responsibility, also known as CSR, is an increasingly important concept for companies today. It is about taking into account the social and environmental impacts of a company’s activity. Bordeaux City Tours, as an actor of the tourism industry, is aware of this responsibility and is committed to implement responsible practices.

We were awarded the CSR Committed Exemplary Level (4/4) label by AFNOR in March 2025.

Our mission is to offer a 1- or 2-day Hop-on Hop-off Mobility Pass, aboard panoramic double-decker buses with multilingual audio guides, allowing passengers to get off as close as possible to Bordeaux’s iconic sites and must-see monuments, so they can explore them at their own pace and as they wish.

Our vision is to ccompany each visitor as they discover the city and the local gems of Bordeaux tourism, facilitating access for as many people as possible through supportive and sustainable services.

Our reason for being is to bring Bordeaux to life and help as many people as possible to appreciate it, so that our visitors leave with wonderful memories and thus contribute to the city’s reputation in France and internationally.

WHAT IS THE CSR STANDARD?

The CSR standard is a set of guidelines that companies can follow to ensure that they operate in a socially responsible manner. The standard covers areas such as environmental impact, social responsibility and economic sustainability. It provides a framework for companies to operate in a sustainable and responsible manner.

BORDEAUX CITY TOURS AND ITS COMMITMENT TO SUSTAINABILITY

Bordeaux City Tours is committed to sustainability and has adopted the CSR standard to ensure that it operates in a responsible and sustainable manner. The company has implemented a series of initiatives to reduce its environmental impact, support its employees, and promote economic sustainability.

Since January 2022, the Bordeaux City Tours team has implemented many concrete actions:

  • 1 to 2 solidarity action days per year granted to employees
  • Implementation of a Quality of Life and Working Conditions Questionnaire (QLWC)
  • Improvement of the welcome, integration and training of employees
  • Signing of the “Objectif CO2” charter for the reduction of greenhouse gases
  • Tourism and disability certification obtained in October 2023 for 4 types of disability: motor, auditory, mental and visual.
  • Reconditioning of individual headphones used during the tour by people with disabilities.

In addition to all the actions that Bordeaux City Tours implements as part of its CSR policy, this approach acts as a guiding principle that inspires and motivates every employee on a daily basis, giving greater meaning to their professional activities.

Circasciences takes to the stage in Bordeaux: understanding the science behind the show

The exhibition *Circasciences en piste*, organised by Cap Sciences, is part of an initiative to bring advanced science to the general public through the lens of the circus arts. The exhibition design features a series of interactive installations that allow visitors to analyse the physical mechanisms employed by performers during their acts. This educational approach transforms a fun experience into a genuine scientific laboratory accessible to the general public.

Located on the quays of Bordeaux, right next to the Cité du Vin, this exhibition benefits from a strategic position within a well-established tourist ecosystem. This location makes it easy to incorporate into a wider urban discovery itinerary, particularly through organised tours.

Exhibition – Around the world in 50 wine regions

The Cité du Vin is hosting the exhibition Around the World in 50 Wine Regions, a visual journey dedicated to the diversity of international wine-growing regions. This programme showcases a selection of photographs from partner regions, each of which has chosen an iconic image to embody its landscape, people or heritage.

The curatorial approach is based on a cross-sectional interpretation of the vineyards, without geographical hierarchy or strict technical classification. The photographs interact with each other through three major themes:

    • the morphology of wine-growing landscapes,
    • the representation of professional gestures
    • and the historical roots of the terroirs.
