The majestic Place des Quinconces will once again welcome this jewel of French circus heritage with its brand new show, a true bubble of wonder in the heart of our city.
Following its success in previous years, which amazed thousands of spectators in Bordeaux, the prestigious Cirque Arlette Gruss returns to Bordeaux to enchant our winter. From 19 December 2025 to 25 January 2026, the big top will be set up on Place des Quinconces with its brand new creation: ‘Parenthèse’.

Even before entering the big top, soak up the magical atmosphere that reigns over Place des Quinconces. The illuminated façade of the big top, the smell of candyfloss and the smiles of families immediately immerse you in the magical world of the circus.
Then take your seat in the stands and watch the track come to life before your very eyes. ‘Parenthèse’ is not just entertainment, it is an invitation to suspend time, to escape the frantic pace of everyday life. In our ultra-connected age, we are witnessing a real resurgence of the circus arts, which offer this precious opportunity to disconnect.
From the spectacular entrance of the performers to the breathtaking acts, not to mention moments of poetry and humour, Cirque Arlette Gruss offers us a complete sensory experience lasting over two hours. An extraordinary journey where technical prowess and emotional moments follow one another at a perfectly orchestrated pace.
Comprising some thirty international artists and directed by Gilbert Gruss, this new show elevates traditional circus art by adding a decidedly contemporary touch. These performances offer a unique take on the circus, where the intensity of the performances and the emotion of the audience combine harmoniously.
A complete visual experience in one of Europe’s most beautiful marquees, combining modern technology with traditional craftsmanship.
