After a hugely successful run across Europe, the immersive experience of the year finally arrives in Bordeaux, in a remarkable historic venue: the Crous Chapel and Cloister.
More than just a show about the origins of the world, Genesis embodies a fusion of cutting-edge technology and historical heritage. Equipped with high-performance projectors and lasers, the chapel lights up from floor to ceiling, providing a backdrop of light throughout the show. For 30 minutes, spectators are treated to a breathtaking show divided into 7 tableaux. This visual journey through light, sky, water, nature, animals and humanity retraces the stages in the creation of the world.
The Chapelle du Crous is an exceptional site in the heart of the city. Formerly the “Grand Séminaire de Bordeaux”, it is a listed historic monument. The Capucins district, an emblematic heritage site, owes its name to the Capucins monks who settled here in the early 17th century, on the site of the current Crous de Bordeaux-Aquitaine. The more recent chapel was built in 1875 by the Grand Séminaire de Bordeaux, the successor to the Capuchins. It was quickly incorporated into the public domain after the 1905 law separating Church and State. The chapel is one of the finest examples of neo-Gothic architecture in the Bordeaux region.
The projections are specially created to match the architecture of the building, making this experience truly unique. Thanks to state-of-the-art technology, every detail is meticulously measured and modeled in 3D, offering a captivating symphony of sounds and visuals.
Address: 18 rue du Hamel 33800 Bordeaux
Opening hours: Thursday to Sunday from 6pm.
