Dancing By the Riverside – a summer to jive


This summer, Bordeaux repeats for the 14th consecutive year, its free Dance Festival, open to all  dance enthusiasts: ”Dansons sur les quais”. From the 14th July until August 20th 2017, Bordeaux  locals and tourists passing through the city will be able to stroll around the city until dusk enjoying the summer atmosphere.


Always an outstanding program

This year again, the association Danse Avec Nous puts on a show to encourage discovering and enjoying different styles of dance. A festival area of 2000m ² dedicated to dance and mixing all styles of dance: salsa, waltz, rumba, hip-hop, bachata, rock, Argentinian tango, country and many more … It is a unique opportunity to discover the universe of dance in all its facets.


What better way than a morning classes to get into shape? From 10:00 onwards, classes in Zumba, African dance and Aero Dance are offered. The afternoons are devoted to the discovery of a dance  by anyone interested and are followed by workshops supervised by dance teachers and dancers. Then there are the festivities on the 2 large dance floors with themed evenings organised every evening of the week.

Sharing a fun time

In the open air, by the sunset over the city and the sweetness of the summer evenings, Dancing By The Riverside is above all about sharing and having fun together. As a family, as a couple or solo, the dance styles are accessible to all and for all ages. No one is sidelined, handicapped workshops are even offered for people with reduced mobility.

What is special this season, is that it starts on the occasion of the National Holiday of the 14th July with a great ball. Not to be missed under any circumstances, the spectacular breakdance competition on 18th August. And finally, to close these 5 weeks of dancing, a competition open to all allows to put into practice all the dance moves learnt.
